The spiritual guide, self-help guru and author of Super Attractor shares the grounding practice that can redirect your energy in a more positive way.

Each morning when we wake up, we can go in one of two directions: We can set ourselves up to feel good with rituals like meditating, setting intentions, morning journaling and exercising… or we can pick up our phones, gulp down coffee and start rushing around.

When we choose the second option, we often start the day feeling overwhelmed and anxious. Our mind races with everything we have to get done. If we’ve looked at social media, we might already be comparing ourselves to other people or feeling stressed by hot takes on the news.

The morning is a sacred time — it’s when we choose how we want the rest of the day to go. Therefore, it’s crucial that we change our habits.

The great news is that a single shift in our behavior can redirect our entire day.

The Daily Design Method

My journal is a crucial part of my spiritual practice. One exercise that I do every day is something I call the Daily Design Method. I teach this method in Super Attractor as a way to direct your good-feeling emotions so you attract what you want throughout the day.

This method is easy to do and feels really good. Each morning when you wake up, open your journal and answer these four questions:

  • How do I want to feel today?
  • Who do I want to be today?
  • What do I want to receive today?
  • What do I want to give today?

Take your time answering each question as specifically as possible. This is a process of co-creating your day with the Universe, so include meaningful details.

See yourself feeling satisfied as you finish a task that you’ve been avoiding. Envision yourself having positive encounters with everyone from your family to your coworkers. Picture your morning commute going smoothly.

Design your day exactly how you want it to be and have fun writing about it! This is my favorite morning journaling exercise. It’s so empowering and feels so good.

This method combines creative visualization with clear intention setting and feeling good. As you design your day, allow yourself to feel really good about what you’re writing down and ride that wave of positive momentum!

When you make this a morning habit, you’ll start to notice that things begin to work out exactly as you planned — or that something even better happens. Not only will you go through your day feeling happier and less stressed, but the high-vibration energy you carry with you will ripple outward. Other people will pick up on it and respond to you more positively.

Enjoy this practice. Give yourself 10 minutes to design your day with this morning journaling exercise, and then watch in awe as your visions come to life!
