Stem cells play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing tissues throughout the body. As we age, the number and efficiency of our stem cells decline, contributing to the aging process and age-related diseases. By supporting and nurturing stem cells naturally, we can potentially improve healthspan and enhance longevity.

Fasting and Autophagy

One of the most effective natural ways to support stem cells is through intermittent fasting or caloric restriction. Fasting triggers autophagy, a cellular cleaning process that helps remove damaged cells and promotes the renewal of stem cells. Studies have shown that intermittent fasting can boost stem cell activity, particularly in the intestines and the brain.

Exercise and Movement

Regular physical activity not only keeps muscles strong and the heart healthy, but it also promotes stem cell activity, particularly in the muscles and cardiovascular system. Resistance training and endurance exercises have been shown to activate muscle stem cells (satellite cells) and support overall tissue regeneration.
